Karen Wilson, Senior HR Specialist/Analyst
After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University, Karen Wilson landed her first job as Hiring & Training Coordinator at Best Buy, Co. and fell in love with the world of HR. In 2007, Best Buy introduced Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to the company and Karen found a new love in the HR realm — Diversity & Inclusion. As a result, Karen became the Chair of the Black Employee Network (BEN), an ERG at Best Buy, and had the absolute pleasure of spearheading initiatives such as a mentorship with Earvin “Magic” Johnson and The Magic Johnson Foundation. The mentorship with Mr. Johnson and BEN ultimately grew African Americans in management positions within Best Buy’s DC, Maryland and Virginia markets by 15% in one year while Karen was Chair.
Karen is currently a Senior HR Specialist/Analyst managing JLM’s largest client - BackOffice Associates, a global data migration and data governance company based in Hyannis, MA.
Alongside her HR career, Karen loves to spend time with her daughter, travel, attend live concerts and music festivals featuring her favorite artists, visit art exhibits and open mics, participate in community give-backs and educate herself on new wealth generating investment skills and strategies.
