Alethea Davis, Senior HR Consultant
Alethea is a highly experienced Human Resources professional with over 15 years of experience and expertise in the areas of recruitment and staffing, compensation and benefits management, developing HR policies and procedures, employee relations and training and development. Her portfolio includes managing projects for diverse clientele in the following industries and disciplines: non-profit organizations, government contractors, television and radio, public charter schools, law firms, information technology firms, healthcare providers and a multi-employer health and retirement plan.
Alethea has held numerous positions with businesses and industries in the Washington, DC area. She spent over seven years with United Mine Worker’s Health and Retirement Funds (UMWA), where she managed a complex health, welfare and retirement benefits program and provided HR support during reduction-in-force activities. During her tenure, Alethea gained significant experience managing benefits, employee relations, HRIS implementations and process improvement. Thereafter, Alethea spent several years delivering consulting and outsourcing human resources services to small businesses in various industries. She is well known for developing strong relationships and helping her clients develop long-term strategies for HR delivery. Alethea has assisted clients with strategically integrating effective HR processes, programs and practices into their daily operations. She delivered critical support and solutions to her clients that created efficiencies, cost savings, and promoted compliance to state and federal regulations. Alethea is an expert at working through complex issues with clients and creating sound solutions that address business needs.
Alethea earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Decision Science from George Mason University and a Master of Science in Management, concentrating in Project Management from the University of Maryland University College. She earned her Professional designation from HRCI – (PHR) and SHRM – (SHRM-CP). Alethea is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Human Resource Association of National Capital Area (HRA-NCA) where she volunteers as a mentor and Career Management Program (CMP) committee member.
